I am 53 and beginning to research facelifts. I have heard about nonsurgical options and am wondering, what nowadays is considered to be safe and is also effective?
Answer:
The non-surgical facelift also called the liquid facelift. This involves the use of Botox and fillers to eliminate some of the facial wrinkles and give a refreshed look. The Botox is used to treat the forehead and eyes. I apply it the area between the eyes, where the vertical wrinkles, named glabellar lines, form. I then apply to the horizontal forehead wrinkles and to the crow’s feet. I like to fill in the nasolabial folds with Perlane. I think this product works very well for medium to deep folds. I usually have my assistant place a topical numbing cream for 10 minutes and then inject the Perlane. Just this month, I started using Perlane-L, which comes with lidocaine mixed in. Most of my patients have been very happy with this new product, as it is tolerated much better and is nearly painless. Most patients that undergo the liquid facelift procedure are very happy with their new refreshed look.
