The tear trough area is a small valley that runs from the medial portion of the lower eyelid down into the cheek. As we age, the cheek, or midface, can start to descend. This can make the tear trough valley deeper and appear as a hollowing in the lower eyelid.
The tear trough area can be filled in with fillers to eliminate the hollow appearance. This is done in the office after the application of numbing cream in the area. The results are immediate and last for about 5 months.
